There is so much going on in the world. We miss the things that are important to our survival. Our understanding is that it’s my life so I’ll live it the way I want. In reality this life you have has been given to you by God. You owe your lives to Him and Him only.
It is Because of God that we are here and when we take control of the life that we have we mess everything up. It’s the reason there is so much pain, hate, drama, and sickness in this world. We think we know and we don’t.
When we seek God and give our lives to Him is when you will see everything fall into place.
Some people think it is difficult to give their lives to Christ, but it is very simple.
Believing In Jesus
First you must believe in God. We didn’t just come to be here out of nowhere. There was always God. He decided to bring us and this world into existence. He created us all for a purpose, and it’s by believing in him that we will find our purpose.
The world had become so lost so infested with sin that we were all doomed to die and spend forever in hell.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
So God loves us so much that He sacrificed his own Son to save us from damnation. Do you love anyone or anything that much? That’s the ultimate love.
but God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more than, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Believing that Jesus died for our sins is the first step to giving your lives to Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures and He was seen by Cephas then by the twelve.
Believing that Jesus died and paid for your sins and came back to life is very important in your life with Christ.
Accepting Christ As Your Savior
People believe you have to do something fancy or have a preacher pray with them. This is not the case. Accepting Christ is as a simple as talking to Jesus just as you would your father or friend.
Speaking to the Lord is just as simple as talking to your friends or family. We are just as God made us and He knows what we want to say before we say it. It’s our faith in Him that causes us to speak to Him and have a relationship with Him that He seeks in us.
This simple prayer is the first step to having a relationship with Christ.
I know that I’m a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness.
I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life.
I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.
There you have it, the beginning of your new life in Christ. Your sins have been forgiven and toy are a made new in Christ.
Turning away from sin and trusting God
Part of Giving your lives to Christ is to turn away from your old ways and trust God to guide your new life as a Christian.
We understand that our ways were wrong and must ask God to take over and make us as He made us to be. We must start by reading the bible and searching for the answers God has put in it to guide us.
2 Chronicles 15:2b
The Lord is with you when you are with Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the lord and His strength; seek His face always.
1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
Being Diligent In Seeking The Lord
We must be diligent in seeking the Lord.
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.
and let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Giving your lives to Christ is as simple as talking to Him and asking for forgiveness. Turning away from the sins of the world and seeking Him always. Be a better you through Him and let the world know how He has changed your life. Have faith that He is working on you to make you what you are in the Lord.
